I've had this huge lightbulb moment during Gemini season which sincerely felt like I finally found the cure to my devastating depression episodes. Not going to lie, the past five years were more miserable than enjoyable to navigate for me. Although yes, I've experienced and accomplished major goals, I can't genuinely say that I've been feeling content, let alone grateful for being alive.

However, I know that I have it in me, a permanent zest for life. I know it because I was that girl; the fiery, passionate, and inspiring fool who dreams bigger than the world and proves people otherwise.

You probably wonder, just like I do, where has she gone? What changed?

When I say Gemini season brought its many aha-moment along, I mean that it brought me back five years ago, during the summer of 2017, to the exact moment where my whole life and perfectly planned plans fell into shambles.

I revisited everything: every moment, every feeling, every tear, every desire, every failure. I revisited everything and for the first time in a long time, I felt as though I had the power to change the course of a present that is not for me. I revisited my old goals and dreams which I put aside. I didn't have a choice back then. Giving up was what I was supposed to do. For my survival. For my mental health.

But today, I realize that life isn't what it used to be and that I now have options. Life is giving me the opportunity to go back and start again where I left off.

Quite frankly, I haven't felt so enthusiastic about life in a looong time.

So yeah, time travel might be the cure for your depression. You lose nothing by trying.

One of my biggest wins since I began tapping into my psychic powers, and more specifically since I began ancestral work, was to create a successful channel of communication between my grandfather and I through oracle cards. Two times, I asked my grandfather if he was there and if he could hear me. The same cards fell out from the deck each time, showing the words “gracious receptivity” & “communication co-creation.”

Communicating with the other side has always scared me, so has witchcraft, so I’m still a little fearful to communicate with him regularly. But I’m trying and I know that he has the patience to wait for me to call after him.

The reason I decided to start ancestral work is that I never felt like I belonged anywhere. Although it’s probably part of who I am as a reflector in Human Design, I know that this is a trait that I’ve gained from my GF who migrated from Algeria (Middle East) in Europe when he was about 18 y/o. He fleet away, for good reasons, I assume. But because he did, I’ve always felt like fleeting away and starting over in another country, too.

There’s a strong desire and need in me to reconnect to my roots. To understand this part of me and understand the men I get them from before it’s too late.

I wish we were taught the importance of roots and family history as kids—with more emphasis. I regret not building a closer relationship with my blood-related ancestors while they were still physically alive. I also regret not attending my GF’s funeral… I regret not taking the chance to get to know myself better, through them, while it was still possible.

Doing my best to make up for the time lost.
